The latest dispatches from Azeroth

Last night was the guild's secon major push into Ulduar, and it went well.

Flame Leviathan went down on the second attempt, so we then pottered off to see XT-002 Deconstructor, who went down first time:

XT-002 Deconstructor
We then one-shotted Ignis before going to have a chat with Razorscale. This was a long fight - long enough that my client crashed, I had to force a reboot, and was able to log back in and rejoin the fight before the end. And the end was good:

Shanda had to call off then, so we substituted in Almaron. However, two healers prove, uh, sub-optimal in the Kologarn fight, so Hex switched to healing. And Lokè discovered that Kologarn, in fact, lives in a hole. (Riv double checked this for us later). But, on the fourth attempt, down he went:

I believe the plan is to extend the lock-out and push deeper into Ulduar.

A good night last night. Noth went down like the victim that he is, as normal. And then we danced. And we danced quite a lot. But finally, we danced Heigan to death:

And then, we went for a chat with Loatheb, who proved to be less challenging than the trash before him, going down first time:

Loatheb Down
Plague Quarter cleared.

So, How Far Apart Are We?

Violet Hold - trailing edge
Well, given that Andro's post on defeating Violet Hold was back in December, that means that the trailing edge of the guild are about three months behind the leading edge...

Utgarde Keep falls again

| 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks
Another group of Ravens ventured into Utgarde Keep last night on a spoiler-free, Blayse led mission.

A few wipes as we threw ourselves against bosses with no idea what to expect, and quite a few drops which were greeded as nobody could use them (and we had no enchanter). But it was pretty good run nonetheless - I do remember Popps being excited with one drop, and I think everyone had lots of fun! The detail in the graphics is amazing btw, and although the keep is fairly straightforward, there were enough twists to have some 'ooh hang on' moments :)

It was only the 2nd time I'd ever lead a group, so thanks for being patient guys, I thoroughly enjoyed it :) Oh and thanks for letting me try some 'inventive' tactics with cc :)

The Prince is Dead

Yeah, yeah, old news. But I grabbed the Prince death screenie from Andro's blog just for completeness' sake.

The Late Mr Illhoof
Terestian Illhoof finally fell before the Ravens last night, with only a token gnome sacrifice to slow us down (poor, poor Kezzle). Admittedly we did wipe once beforehand. Loots were:

Cord of Nature's Sustenance
Mender's Heart Ring

Both went to Leafy.

We also dropped Nightbane on our second attempt, losing Leafy and Psia as we went. Loots:

Panzar'That Breastplate (Gradjo)
Dragonheart Flameshield (Monarch)

Sadly, we wiped half a dozen time on the Prince before calling. But still, there's only one boss in Kara we haven't dropped now, so the full clear can't be far away...

Another version of the victory shot...

Sing a Song of Karazhan

So, Kara again last night. And my, what a night it was. After we'd given Horse-boy and the dinner party rogue a good kicking, we headed off to the opera to deliver a critical verdict on the actors there:

We took them down on their first performance.

So, finding ourselves at a loose end, with three bosses down, we went for a chat with the Maiden:

She found our arguments… persuasive.

3 Epics for Riv, 2 for me, 2 for Psia and two for other people whose names elude me right now…

Hakkar dies after a valiant effort by the Ravens.

A small celebration.
